Am 19.03.2026 bin ich im Theater Maria Isabel in Granada bei der Cumbre Mundial del Tango Argentino aufgetreten. Die Cumbre Mundial del Tango ist ein internationales Festival, bei dem es nicht Hauptsächlich um Tanz geht sondern um Tango als Musik und internationales Gengre. Das Festival fand dieses Mal in der schönen andalusischen Stadt Granada statt und ging über zwei Wochen. Mit dabei waren berühmte Tango Musiker, wie der Sänger Guillermo Fernández, die Gitarristin Mirta Álvarez, oder der Gitarrist César Angeleri, außerdem internationale tango interpreten aus Dänemark, Frankreich, Italien und Finnland. Ich habe bei diesem festioval meine Heimstadt Hamburg vertreten und in diesem wunderschönen traditionsreichen Theater Isabel La Católica von Granada für das andalusische und angereiste argentinische Publikum, deutsche Tangos gesungen. Diese Einladung zur Cumbre Mundial del Tango gab mir die Möglichkeit begleitet von dem Pianisten Mariano Siccardi, zu zeigen dass es auch Tangos, oder Versionen argentinischer Tangos auf deutsch gibt. Daran sieht man einmal mehr, wie beliebt und international dieses tolle Genre ist. Bereits vor fast 100 Jahren wurden Komponisten in Deutschland von Reisen oder Erzählungen von Argentinien inspiriert Tangos zu schreiben. Viele davon wurden für Filme oder Theaterstücke verwendet. Was mir bei der Arbeit mit Mariano und der Wiederentdeckung dieses schönen Repertoires aufgefallen ist: Die Texte der deutschen Tangos sind oftmals sehr humorvoll.
Es war eine wunderbare Erfahrung und hat in mir die Lust geweckt dem Deutschen Tango eine noch größere Plattform bei meinen zukünftigen Konzerten zu geben.

El 19 de marzo de 2026, actué en el Teatro María Isabel de Granada durante la Cumbre Mundial del Tango Argentino. La Cumbre Mundial del Tango es un festival internacional que se centra no principalmente en ser un encuentro el baile social, sino en el tango como música y género internacional. Este año, el festival tuvo lugar en la hermosa ciudad andaluza de Granada y duró dos semanas. Participaron músicos de tango de renombre como el cantante Guillermo Fernández, la guitarrista Mirta Álvarez y el guitarrista César Angeleri, además interpretes internacionales del tango, de Dinamarca, Francia, Italia y Finlandia. Representé a mi ciudad natal, Hamburgo, en este festival y canté tangos alemanes para el público andaluz y argentino visitante en el hermoso e histórico Teatro Isabel la Católica de Granada. Esta invitación a la Cumbre Mundial del Tango me brindó la oportunidad, acompañado por el pianista Mariano Siccardi, de demostrar que también existen tangos, o versiones de tangos argentinos, cantados en alemán. Esto demuestra una vez más la popularidad e internacionalidad de este maravilloso género. Hace casi 100 años, compositores en Alemania se inspiraron en viajes o historias de Argentina para escribir tangos. Muchas de estas piezas se utilizaron en películas y obras de teatro. Lo que más me impactó al trabajar con Mariano y redescubrir este hermoso repertorio fue el humor característico de las letras de los tangos alemanes.Fue una experiencia maravillosa que me ha inspirado a darle aún mayor protagonismo al tango alemán en mis futuros conciertos.

On March 19, 2026, I performed at the Maria Isabel la Católica Theatre in Granada during the Cumbre Mundial del Tango Argentino. The Cumbre Mundial del Tango is an international festival that focuses not primarily on tango as a social dance, but on tango as music and an international genre. This year, the festival took place in the beautiful Andalusian city of Granada and lasted for two weeks. Famous tango musicians such as the singer Guillermo Fernández, the guitarist Mirta Álvarez, and the guitarist César Angeleri participated, also international tango performers from Denmark, France, Italy and Finnland. I represented my hometown of Hamburg at this festival and sang German tangos for the Andalusian and visiting Argentinian audiences in the beautiful, historic Isabel la Católica Theatre in Granada. This invitation to the Cumbre Mundial del Tango gave me the opportunity, accompanied by the pianist Mariano Siccardi, to demonstrate that there are also tangos, or versions of Argentinian tangos, sung in German. This shows once again how popular and international this wonderful genre is. Almost 100 years ago, composers in Germany were inspired by travels or stories from Argentina to write tangos. Many of these were used in films or theater plays. What struck me while working with Mariano and rediscovering this beautiful repertoire was how often the lyrics of German tangos are very humorous.
It was a wonderful experience and has inspired me to give German tango an even bigger platform at my future concerts.
